oh my god the pain I am in is unbelievable, my right shoulder is in bits, after reeling the hose in over the years, do any of you lads suffer with this, & wot do you do, I think I am going to invest in one of those power up remote control hoses from cleaning warehouse

Im so strong, that the reel is the one thats experience pain ....

Fun aside ! I dont normally feel it , but reeling in all 120m is kinda brutal ...o_O

three times a day ibuprofen works wonders ,take with meal

ok I,m not keen on the painkillers but as a last resort its the dogs ********

when you think of it day in day out on the poles and them reels no nice.

Also as you have said electic reel also light poles .Been thinking over this for a while why use 25ft pole when 18ft is enough

lighter and shorter t,then when required 25ft or bigger

My left shoulder feels it working with the pole all day.

Weight training would be the beat solution to strengthen the area.

Had steroid injections a few weeks ago in the shoulder feels great now, was painful lifting my arm above my head keep putting if off, get yourself to the doctors and explain what you do for a living wished I had done it earlier.

I am suffering with my left shoulder due to an old rotator cuff tear it is prone to getting injured

Also all down my bicep at the moment with bruising appearing on it from nowhere

From what i have googled it sounds like bicep tendonitis as that is common if you already have a rotator cuff injury

Can't take time off and not having surgery on it which is a common treatment so just gonna man up and work through it

Hi Daveyboy, my advice, don't try and work through it. If you don't give it enough time to recover it turns in to tendinosis/tendinopathy. Effectively it's where you don't give your body enough time to repair the tendons so the internal process that normally go through your body to break down the dead cell tissue and then repair it actually start to break down the good cell tissue and you're left with something much worse. I have had it in both elbows for 10 months now and it's not pleasant. Effectively treatments at the tendinitis stage is meant to be ice immediately after any exercise of the inflamed tendons and 1 week rest. If you weight train your forearms you take some of the strain off the tendons in your elbows as well. This is all research I've gathered from the internet. I'm currently referred from the doctor to an ever increasing 3 months waiting list to see the physio haha

Been using extreme poles since 2011 and I started WFP in 2010.

Had electric reel since 2014 but from 2010 to 2013 I used a trolley system. So was only pole hose.

Work like a Trojan most days and can honestly say never really experienced RSI pains.

Apart from a back pain. But that's an old injury. Always gonna have that.

I have ALWAYS said that my van setup is overkill for window cleaning but I don't want to be a cripple in 10 years time through RSI.

Look after ya bodies chaps.

Never really have a issues if I get pains that hang around there normal from gym but I use stuff so it clears.. been thinking of a power up how easy they to wire in?

Gonna disagree with you @Damo the van is NOT overkill at all. Some of us aren't as young as we once may have been and we need a bit more looking after.

Electric reels ans light weight hoses ars just two good ways to remove unnessecary stresses to the body.

It aint about 'boys with toys' it's about tools that will allow men to continue a healthy working life well into being old men.
