    Who has a Accountant

No worries, My advice is if you’re a sole trader mate would be whatever you make, keep 40% back, that should cover your expenses and taxes nicely and allow you to build up a nice buffer to invest in the business in the future without worrying about having to find extra money when things hit the...

    famous people who were windies

Ryan Searle the darts player was and possibly still is a windy outside of his darts career. He hasnt had any major Tournament wins yet so dont know whether its paying his household bills entirely

    Who has a Accountant

I think it largely depends on your turnover mate. I believe most accounts base their charge on 1.5% of the company turnover. So if £93 a month works out at 1.5% of your turnover this could actually sound about right. Not that i am entirely certain about my statement.  whenever you pay for...

    Scaffolding for roof cleaning

Yeah mate have contacted a couple pf scaffolding companies since, both said between £650 & £900 give or take for wrap around scaffolding so you’re in the right ball park

    Egg on glass......HELP

I have found screwfix no nonsense degreaser to be the best for removing egg. I remember one of custys had been egged on halloween, we showed up maybe 3 weeks or 4 weeks after so it had been on there a while. Good old nO nonsense degreaser on there and the egg just disintegrated in no time, happy...

    Builders clean and liability

Its easily a reuptation breaker as well as people are often so fussy about these sort of jobs, usually theyre looking over everything with the professors eye glass and a fine toothcombe. Id rather take the day off and hide ?

    Builders clean and liability

Agreed. I think most of us have done the odd builders clean here and there when starting out but by the time you’ve done a couple of them you say never again. It should signal alarm bells, as 1. The builders havent taken preventative measures to protect frames and glass, 2, they either cant be...

    Anthracite window frames.

Yeah i’ve got a property like this said to the customers straight up they’ve destroyed the frames. Same with pvc ones we have some that are covered in builders mess. Dont get involved wasting money and time trying to find a miracle cure, they are more than welcome to get the worker back in who...

    Scaffolding for roof cleaning

Cheers mate, there is a massive social divide, there are affluent areas close by where the cost of scaffolding probably wouldnt phase them but there are also many people who dont have that sort of money to hand, its all down to the customers personal financial circumstances i guess

    Scaffolding for roof cleaning

Thanks Geez, i think i may have to pass up the idea unless its a bungalow, i havent got any storage space left in the garage at all, and cant justify that kind of outlay either. Picked up a few regulars today out of nowhere and done a little softwash on some stonework which i really enjoyed so...

    Scaffolding for roof cleaning

Yeah mate this is it. Thing is with scaffold towers youd have to be constantly moving it, taking it up, putting it down, sounds like a ballache whereas you could just have scaffolding covering the whole house, then of course theres the unlevel ground/obstacles etc. and with all the equipment in...

    Scaffolding for roof cleaning

Hey all. Hope you’re well. Been a while a while since i posted on here, had some pretty serious issues with my back that are ongoing so i kind of took a break from the site for a while also.  Over the past year or two we’ve had an increasing number of enquiries about roof cleaning. (Maybe...

    Price Increases Advice

I agree with what people are saying on this thread. Trying to keep your existing custom is very important, raising prices by £1 per year is about the norm now, maybe £2-3 for larger properties. and important to stick to or its so easy to get left behind. All the while taking new custom on...

    Gardner back pack

Yeah hard water areas are always much worse, but relative to what we are used to ours has doubled

    Gardner back pack

Yeah mate to be honest it sounds like a lot of hassle and i’ve had so many health issues regarding my back that i honestly don’t think i can be going through any more aggro than is necessary, i struggle to move a lot of days, so i might just keep doing it the way we’re doing it and raise some...

    Gardner back pack

Yeah i agree it is getting expensive. Do you know how i’d go about incorporating an RO in to our set up? Basically we have an outside tap which we run a hosepipe to 2 di vessels in the garage, and then it goes in to 25 L barrels as we dont have a tank set up in the van. Is it therefore possible...

    Gardner back pack

I think the general rule most people say is anything over 100 tds probably best to have an RO. Of course others may disagree but i seem to remember people saying 100 being the benchmark.

    Gardner back pack

Kind of hard to answer that to be honest as our rounds run 6 weekly which make the figures a bit hard to work out on a monthly basis, our books aren't full either as we rely a lot on ad on work. Due to covid our rounds have decreased a bit, but not massively, and its taking us half the time to...

    Gardner back pack

We’ve just switched over to Gardiner backpacks and i must say they are outstanding. the backpacks we used to use just became too expensive so we had to switch supllier. 2x gardiner backpacks were half the price of 2x backpacks at our old supplier and the quality and flow rate seem superior so im...
