Mate, we literally have nowhere here for supplies! Everything has to be ordered online! Just as well actually because the prices they would charge here wouldn’t be worth it anyway!
They’re expensive if you live in Guernsey pal. No git sends them over here without charging an arm and a leg!
I spray through a brush head as it helps me work it in whilst spraying so I don’t usually get much drift. Just seems that day was an exception.
That’s brilliant mate! And you’re talking about thick bleach aren’t you as it clings better to vertical surfaces.
I’ve only done softwashing for a couple of years and did a ton of research about it all. I became a proper google, YouTube and forum nerd! Glad I did though as we have done plenty...
Awesome! Gonna give this a go! I always wondered but have got a huge stock of different types of TFR to use so never bothered. All for it if it gets the **** off quicker. Cheers pal!
Hold on? You add store bleach to hypo? Surprised you haven’t had the backlash everyone else gets on here when they try adding anything to hypo.
We use farm yard hypo but are always adding the expensive surfactant and scent mask to it in order to get the best performance. It seems as though...
Absolutely awesome job that mate! A friend of mine just used a weak mix to pre treat his limestone before pressure washing and it came up brilliantly! Just repeating what I’ve found that’s all..... haven’t had a bad experience with it yet at all.
Seems to bring sandstone up brilliantly. I spoke with a local paving expert recently who tried selling me some overpriced cleaners and he said SH is not suitable for any natural stones but all I’ve ever heard is to never use it on limestone.
Hi guys,
I am constantly searching the web and studying about all things softwash/SH based! One thing I can’t seem to look up is a definitive list of surfaces whereby you cannot use SH or where you must use weak solution.
So far we operate using basic rules:
PVC: 1% mix
Render: 1-2% mix ...
You are by far the most knowledgable guy on here Spruce. Reading through a lot of your comments I’ve learned a lot from you and continue to! Thanks again for the reply mate as that’s cleared it up a little more! I do so much digging to learn more and more about everything windows cleaning...
Hi lads,
just wondering if any of you had pictures of what spent resin and filters look like. My sediment and carbon pre filters are apparently needing to be changed every 9-12 months but the last time I changed them they were pretty much as white as the day I installed them. Also I’ve had 11L...
Right lads....
We have cleaned these windows for the past 8 months, on the first visit we cleaned them with WFP and realized the water didn’t sheet off so assumed hydrophobic glass and rinsed thoroughly. We noticed that there was residue or something still on it and they looked awful once dry...
So you always chuck your surfactant into your neat hypo then when you need it you just dilute to the correct strength and away you go? Will be nice if I could get away with that as would save me taking an extra tub of surfactant to every job.
This is for you PJJ
There are scent masks you can get. Bonnymans do one. I’ve used pet de odouriser, you can get 20 liters of concentrate for just £20. You can use it with so many things as it’s water based. I have not yet chucked it in the hypo as need to test the ph levels just to be sure. At the moment I just...
Awesome!! I’ve been concerned about popping the surfactant straight into the hypo as I’ve heard it may kill it after a while or whatever but it seems many do it this way and it’s fine. A definitive answer would be nice.
I didn’t have any surfactant and have had an old barrel of 15% hypo I...
