My lowest price for any job is £12.00, even if its a single window. When you add up your set-up on site time, invoicing time, travel (even if its next door) etc. it mounts up.
Don't aim to be cheaper, aim to be better. If you're better than the people 'just out to make a few quid without a...
Thanks 'SCS' ?
I often do that on the plastic downpipes but people don't like to have their metal glavanized pipes cut. It'd be better if I could shove something up, so to speak. ?
Have you used a drain-snake for clearing downpipes from the ground?
I work in an area where a lot of people have galvinised downpipes which can't be taken apart easily. Quite often they're blocked at the second elbow under the fascia, where the gutter vac can't reach. I'm looking for a solution...
Its hard to know what metral it is so I need to be careful what specific chemical I use this time. Power-washing isnt an option unfortunately. The grit is too fragile. I wish though!
I'm looking for a chemical that will kill moss without reacting with the metal roof please.
The roof is made of some sort of metal and has a grit finish bonded to it. The finish is quite fragile so the moss can't be scrapped off as the grit comes away with it. I often use Algon but can't in...
Thanks for your help Pjj. Much appreciated. As you say, customers want instant results and its difficult to manage that.... no matter how many times you tell them it'll take time.
I have a customer whose house has white-painted plaster finish to the walls that is textured. It's pretty fragile but covered in green algae. Brushing or powerwashing would damage the finish so an algacide spray seems to be the only option I can think of, but........
What product do you think...
Dog poo has to be top of the list. I had a gutter clean job last week at a place with five dogs. S&^% everywhere - on the hose of the Skyvac, on my boots, in the van, on my gloves. When I mentioned it they said, "Yes there is a bit about the place." and just laughed it off. I wasn't laughing...
I find myself hoping that most customers aren't at home when I clean because its such a close community that I can't get with the work if they're in! That said, its nice to say hi to people and have a good relationship. There's a lot to be said for knowing your customers and for them to know...
I was once a 'successful' Civil Servant, but totally unmotivated.
I used to run morcycle tours throughout South America and I was totally skint.
I used to be the Estate Manager for one of the most well-know figures in the UK, but totally stressed.
Arguably I've regressed rather than...
I imagain it depends on the context. If they were stand-alone pannels and not on a building with windows, I'd say not, but I'm only guessing.
I would ask the Licensing department of the Local Authority area you were working in. It would be down to the interpretation of the Civic Government...
You're right about choosing battles and you're right about being careful, but some battles are important. I like a quiet life too. It will all be delt with 'the right way'! :1f44d:
Update......
One of the unlicensed cleaners is moving onto other things, so that one will sort itself out.
As for the other unlicensed cleaner..... I sent him a polite message reminding him that window cleaning is a licensed activity in Soctland, but he didn't respond (unsupprisingly). He's...
