just got my di bottles this morning and the bloody threads were well stiff is this normal?

anyway i filled it up with the resin, looks like fairy dust lol just to the neck than pushed the tube right down and whipped it outside excited to test it while leaving a mess in the kichen for the wife and my tds is 75ppm and straight away i got 000, i had to check the tap water first to make sure the meter was working right lol,one question i have though, is resin like silicone that absorbs moisture or should i blank the snap connectors off on top of di bottles?

one other question, im using 15mm hose pipe from tap like normal but coming out of the di bottle what fitting do i need to connect or reduce to my 8mm microbore hose?

My thread felt tight too to start with but that's because I'd ended up cross threading it so be careful.

As regards capping it off, no need because it will be sitting in pure water once you use it for the first time so it won't go off. Make sure you keep any left over resin in a dry air tight container to prevent that going off.

Are you planning on running your pole straight from your tap then? If so the connectors that you need do exist but usually you would fill a container with pure water and pump that up your pole.

Hope that helps!

Confused; you are using barrels right? So would you not fill each one with pure from the di in your house/garage? Gardiners do a hozelock fitting that would snap onto your http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/hozelock-type-male-connector-to-3-4-inch-male-screw.html and then that would connect to this http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/Aquastop-Female-End-Stop-Fitting-for-Microbore-Minibore-Hose-AQUASTOP.html.

Not sure you would go down this route though. What fitting have you got on your pole, was it Rectus 21 or equivalent?

hi guys, cheers for replys, yep ive wrapped the bag nice and tight to save what ive got ready for next bottle when this starts to rise!

as regards for now i'll be just filling from tap and straight into the tubs i got!

but its when i fit a tank in van i presume i fit the di inbetween the tank and pump and thats where im confused on pipe size!

im thinking normal 15mm garden hose from tank to di then not sure about what size hose fittings a shurflow pump would take and then out to pole!

Have a look here http://www.shurflo.com/rv-products/rv-accessories/fittings/default.html I would have a hozelock off the di, half inch tube from that to a Shurflo fitting straight or elbow (whichever you need) jubilee clip round the tube and PTFE tape on the thread of the pump. Coming out of the pump as above to a hozelock connector and male brass fitting on your reel.

Or, just pump pure into the tank and save carrying a di around.

The link you've posted is for the pole end of the reel. Let me try and explain again. OK, you've got half inch garden hose coming out of your pump and on the end of that is a female hozelock. That hozelock snaps onto the brass male hozelock which is screwed onto your reel entry point. Then I'm guessing you have this http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/ez-snap-female-end-stop-coupling.html attached to your micro/minibore and this http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/ez-snapmale-tail.html attached to your pole hose?

I've never used EZ-Snap, but that way looks like your pole hose won't keep the water in the hose when disconnected, unless you have a tap further up the hose.

HTH

Lol cheers guys, yep I defo need one of those to mount in the van and also the bit I posted pal is from the pole hose end but was wondering would it fit into a plastic hose lock female and use one of those at other end but I see what you mean now lol!

Cheers again guys, so excited to get it all sorted!!!
