Hi Guys - Just a quick thread to say thanks to Gav for letting me sponsor this section and to give my company a quick introduction.

I'm Nathanael Jones, and I've recently retired from window cleaning after 8 years in the industry to concentrate full time on my website design business.

I specialise in phone/tablet friendly websites for tradesmen & small businesses & tradesmen, with full Google optimisation included as standard. My whole ethos is that a website shouldn't ever cost you money, it should EARN you money, so decent search rankings and sales oriented content are my top priority's.

Because its easier to build websites for an industry I know inside out, I offer discounts to cleaning contractors - details are here: http://avondhu-internet.com/cleaning-contractors.html

I look forward to your comments & would be happy to offer advice to anyone who wants to improve their existing website. /emoticons/smile.png

I was doing a bit of a writing for my FB page and blog - thought the info might be helpful to you guys too:

I get asked to look at a LOT of websites - and its surprising how many people make exactly the same mistakes. It happens regardless of their technical ability,.. so here's a very short list of my personal top 3 website mistakes that could be costing you sales:

1: BE CONTACTABLE! I see websites all the time with broken contact forms, old phone numbers that are no longer in service - or worse, no phone numbers at all! Make it easy for your website visitors to contact you, otherwise they'll contact your competition!

2: SERVICE AREA? If your business only ships to certain countries of offers services in specific cities then you NEED to say this! Geo targeting your site can improve your Google rankings in your target areas whilst simultaneously reducing the nuisance calls from customers that live way outside your territory.

3: BE VISIBLE! No, I'm not talking about visibility in search results here - simply making sure your website is compatible with all the major browsers and on all major laptop/tablet/phone screen sizes is essential. Over 60% of all the sites I'm asked to check out have display issues of varying severity and the "But it looks great in Internet Explorer" excuse doesn't cut it any more!
