any advice you can share with me on canvasing? i will be going out next week.
what do you want to know,
just what to ask/expect what to wear/say, doi tell them i am new?
Be brief, Dont talk rubbish, straight to the point and be quick!
all I say is
Hi sorry to bother, I am starting a window cleaning round, and was wondering if you need a window cleaner, if they say yes, price up and say its for glass, frames, cills and doors,
if they say no, no problem, sorry to bother you
I use a clip board with flyers on, and they give the custy a flyer, I write down there address and the price
Ive just started out myself, and been saying almost word for word what bluemonkey has been, just with no flyer instead a buisness card. Personally I have been dressing kind of smart casual, polo T-shirt etc. But I dont think going a bit smarter would do you any harm at all. So far success has been pretty good, picking up maybe 3 jobs an hour, and saturdays definately been best day, more people of work to answer the door
Don't tell them you are new unless they ask, don't lie tho..
I just say,
Hey, how you doing, I offer a professional window cleaning service in the area every 4 weeks and was just calling to ask if you would be interested in having yours cleaned?
Ask them if they'd like a quote as even if they have a window cleaner they may still like a price.
Whereas if you ask if they want a window cleaner, there's only the option of yes or no in a reply.
^This technique is the best technique.
The only time I knock a door is if someone moves in next door to one of my jobs or if I'm asked to knock. Not got enough hours in the day for door to door canvassing.
^ Some people do, it makes a lot of sense.
