Just changed over resin. Didn't get all resin out (most of it before I put new stuff in and the TDS was 1 on first barrel, normally it's 0. Is this because I didn't get every last piece of resin out? And rinsed the inside of the canister? How do people dispose of the old resin? I put it in a bag and put in non-recyclable rubbish bin.

I live in a soft water area so only use DI. I found the same as you when I didn't clean out the DI vessel thoroughly - so yes, I think you do need to get all the used resin out. Having said that you should be fine cleaning at a TDS of 001 (I clean up to a TDS of 005 without a problem). As far as the old resin is concerned it just goes in the rubbish.
