Cat C vans

Hi all,

What is your view on cat C vans, I have seen one that I like but is a cat C the seller advised it was 250 worth of damage plus hire vehicle etc that I think is hard to believe what you think?

If your like me and buy vans to keep till they blow what does it matter I've seen plenty been in smashed been sound it's only a workhorse who cares as long as it's not mega doe

Unless the vechile is only worth £200 he is lying.

Cat C damage is where the cost of repair exceeds the value of the vechile.

I can only imagine a cat c with a tank in the back to be a nightmare or very exspensive to insure.

I bought a car cash that was cat d fully repaired. Wrote it off hit ice hit a car and then a van smashed me in the rear. Because it was a category D the insurance company knocked 2 grand of what I paid for it. Just make sure you get it cheap enough incase you ever are in an accident. They will find anyway to penalise you on the value
