Working on a house the other day I heard a noisy reaction to something from the builders working next door, where I was going next. When I did go over they all had there faces covered, obviously a bad smell. What had happened was when the trench was dug out for the footings, about two feet down, a carcuss of a dead dog was exposed. Unfortunately, whoever had buried the dog had wrapped it in polythene and so it had not decomposed properly. The digger had fetched half of it onto the patio and the other half sticking out of the earth. The most awful smell was emanating from it. They gave it a decent burial when they put the concrete in!
