So when I started out it was 'hello miss, would you like your windows cleaned?' and window cleaning it was, simple, so Green Window Cleaner Seemed appropriate.

Now it's Window Cleaning, Gutter Cleaning, Power Washing, Domestic and Office Cleaning, Commercial Kitchen Cleaning, End of Tenancy Cleaning, Builders Cleaning, Solar Panel cleaning and more.

However Vista Print can't fit:

'Green Window, Gutter, Power, Domestic & Office, Commercial Kitchen, End of Tenancy, Builders Cleans, Solar Panels and more.'

All on one line, so it is time to re-brand, re name and go LTD

The reason for the Ltd part is I calculate we should be at VAT threshold by summer 2016 and instead of messing about trying to duck it I'm just going to let it roll and go through it and being LTD will give my personal property some insurances in case I balls it all up!

So thoughts? Suggestions on a total re-brand?

Red and Yellow and Pink and GREEEEEN, Orange and Purple and Blue, covers all basis:)

That fitted on one line:rofl:

Only joking, I have no clue what to call yourself.

Something with "Complete" in the title, as you do it all.

i sense you wanted more than window cleaning, i predict you will be employing half a dozen bods by this time next yr, possibly under the table

mr and mrs greens services, theres an idea for you, put it in the missuses name when u go limited

Why would I put it in the missus name?

And if I do hire any one it is strictly as a bona fide sub or they will go on the books. I would rather deal with the bs of legit govt rules than the nightmares of doing something they can screw me for.

Also having employed 'under the table' before you have to have 100% faith that when the little shits let you down and you fire them they don't shop you in.

Also if you get audited and they calculate say £15000 of money thats just 'vanished' (in the form of under the table payments) you will end up paying the tax any how so why not make the little pricks legit and let them pay the tax from the off?

If you're going more corporate perhaps a more staid image, muted colours and uniformity, or perhaps a bold colourful design to stand out and 'jump off the page'. Keeping a green image will probably help you I'd have thought, if you try to recycle stuff And use the mostly thoughtfully green methods and approaches - the companies you work with can feel better about themselves and incorporate it into their ethos

Can sense the love you feel for employees ^ /emoticons/biggrin.png
Well this is mostly due to how the little mother ******* behave in the first place.

As I move forward towards net summer it will be the employees that are critical in getting the firm where I want it to be so for this they need enticement as well as security.

I'm trying to structure it so I get employees that come to me because they want to work for my company as opposed to endless string of ******* that are just appeasing the dole office.

Now of course you have to pay pension contributions for them but I reckon we could all do a lot better for employees for example, living wage as minimum wage (if not better) perhaps some sort of health insurance so if they are off sick for any length of time or need any specialist health care down the road then you have it covered.

Also by going PLC you can even give shares as incentives so that come time for dividend they get a nice bonus and so on.

Lots of ideas rolling round in the old grey matter but that's mostly caused by zero sleep and 19'000'000 cups of coffee. /emoticons/tongue.png

After a good nights sleep it will be back to zero hours contracts and minimum wage and they will have to pay for their own squeegees!

Take it the company name Green Cleaning Services Ltd is already taken (or Green Clean Ltd/Grean Clean (UK) Ltd, The Big Green Cleaning Machine Ltd etc etc). If not it's worth a few £££ to own the company name and the web address anyway.

Why would I put it in the missus name?
if you expand into several different fields youd be wise to go limited as some might hold more financial risk than window cleaning . over the years iv known men who put it all in the wifes name or vice versa so they can basically still carry on trading after bankruptcy . However im not up to date on bankrupcy rules which might be different these days
paying workers below the table is very common . i dont do it but know plenty who do. this isnt paying cash with no records, thats asking for trouble - paying below the table is paying on the books a minimal legal wage thats then topped up by cash or goods

I did a bit of driving work like that once @boarcity

Was paid 15 hours on the books minimum wage so they didn't have to pay ni

The rest of the 10 hour 5 day week was cash

Tacho!! What tacho lol

Didn't stay there long..didn't fancy sharing a cell with Geoffrey Archer

nobody [i think] goes into business knowing they will be bankrupt! but the risks get higher if you get into different fields .

i knew an American guy who ran a garage business and bought a big recovery truck [secondhand at auction ] after he got it he then found out none of his workers had a licence to drive it and he had to then sell at a big loss . at the same time he set up an estate agency in a nearby town but timed it wrong. he went bankrupt but reappeared in his wifes name . Grady Augustus Massey was his name, i only found out augustus after reading the bankruptcy notice in the local paper

has Gradys downfall got any relevance to this thread? i really dont know , i mean if he had timed starting the estate agency by jus a few months it might have all ended happily , its down to luck im now thinking
