Mixing half new resin with half old resin

How's it going guys, I've just put in new resin in my diary tank and it was before new resin .16 now I can't get a whole bag off resin till next week but I have some left over resin so I mixed half new resin with the old and it's now back to .00 dunno how long it will last me but has anyone tried this before ?

Yep. A friend told me that trick. He told me to empty the resin though that is used up, looks more like a slush puppy consistency n darker n leave the golden resin that's not been used up.

I always used to do this.

Fill half way then add couple of litres when ppm rose.

Found I got more litres doing this however end of riser tube must be flush with top of di vessel otherwise if short will not work.
