Ive just washed the grime off them as I sometimes do with the hope of lengthening their life. Was just wondering if it works or not? Is washing the brown off an indication that they will still perform their tasks reasonably well. Can't believe I've never asked before! /emoticons/smile.png

To me they don't need changing yet, and I'm not sure cleaning them will make much difference to their life span. There designed to last a certain amount of time, then to be binned. Personally I just change them, there cheap dude. I use the 20" filters.
