WCF

Help Support WCF:

them vans do 50mpg to if ur part time and just starting get it then u can save up for a mid size van in a few years when ur no longer part time

I Think vans with a little higher entrance is Nice , a lot of " in-Out" tears on the back at the end of the Day . I hated the earlier days with many stops in my regular car as tradding only

Don't you mean MPH!

I've had 2 over the years, both were the 55 model, both were as rusty as hell, both slow, both basic inside and both uneconomical.

Traded the last for a berlingo enterprise (lecky Windows remote c/l faster and much more economical) and for years after wondered why the hell I had had 2 escorts.

I can add it onto my car insurance at moment for 108 pounds 160 with breakdown and recovery. This was at current address but my new address ( i am in between addresses) at moment is in a more dodgy area so I suspect higher but it can't be that bad. Think I will make an offer. Get my address changed as well with insurance company technically I am living in two places.

I remember in the motor trade that Escort vans were one of the most popular vans around in the late 1990's. The Berlingo van originally had a 1.8 diesel but they upgraded it to a 1.9 normally aspirated engine in 1999. Each customer who did a test drive really though that the Berlingo had a turbo charged engine.

That just reiterated to me how flat those diesel escorts were.

Later that year the Hdi engine came out and was that mind blowing for Escort van owners./emoticons/biggrin.png

So even at the new address the insurance is either £115 or £170 (with breakdown and recovery). Spoke to the guy today and he said £400 to buy it. I guess road tax as well, but then that's it- worth it for my part time window cleaning and gardening? I do plan to expand the window cleaning.

Also, how big a tank can I get in there? - Can you upgrade the suspension? Is it worth fibre glassing or how would you waterproof it?
