Having purchased a new van and system I have had some issues

The filling point where a hose is attached on the outside of van spills water as if the ro system cant cope.

There's a small amount of pure filling the tank slowly and quite a bit of waste but do the van filling points often not cope with the water feeding it.

The connection between the filling point and hose appear good but continues to squirt water rather than being s tight dry seal.

If its a Hozelok fitting the male has an o ring which makes a water tight seal. If this is what you have then the o ring is probably damaged/broken/split.

The r/o membrane requires water pressure to separate/filter the dissolved solids from the water. To get this pressure the waste outlet has a valve/tap that is throttled back to force water through the membranes. Depending on your water quality the waste to pure ratio on a 4040 r/o for example will be between 3 to 1 to 1 to 1 (3 liters waste to 1 liter pure). Our water is quite soft so our 4040 has a 55 to 45 waste to pure ratio.

You could try a different male coupler, but inspect the o rings. The other thing is that we have changed to brass fittings as some of the plastic ones are inferior We haven't had water spraying out, but rather it was either those continous drips or the fitting blowing off.
