Doesn't cost as much as 3 months off with a broken leg or worse. Safety first.

Get a microlight standoff from eBay, they usually go for good prices.

For clearing downpipes: most **** is caught in the bends, or where some Muppet has joined them with 2inch wood screws. So no specialist tools needed but on the odd occasion a long screwdriver can be used to pull stuff out. Something that may also be useful is a 'drain snakes found in plumbers merchants. But the best I've seen/owned of these is actually from aldi- super heavy duty.

For gutters, check out the ladders from bps, they have a meter wide base that I would never be without on gutter work.

If you have the bps ladder then don't bother with a ladder footer imo.

For window cleaning go for the lyte laddwrs, but if you can stretch to it then buy a proper window cleaning ladder, you won't regret it.

I have a thingy called a cordless drill I drill the downpipe screws out in seconds blast the downpipe out and bobs your uncle!!

I always make a point of telling the custy I take off all fall pipes and get extra for the job!
