Depends down here the local hire shop charges twenty pound a day for a stihl machine and I found that's a good bit of kit. I'm like you I don't do enough power washing to warrant buying a machine. Plus when u finished just off hire it at least its not sat there gathering dust.

I have something simlar to that one mark it does the job, the only problem I have with it, it doesn't draw water it needs pressure so you can't put it in a water butt, if you have a tap or your pump on your van u will be fine.

just to warn you mark any contact with asbestos is a highly specialised job and potentially fatal i.e lung cancer .personally i wouldnt take the chance . if you buy a washer id recommend at least 3000 psi 15 litres per minute spec . you should come across a second hand one easily enough . now i know your well established in this business so surely with your customer base you would get a lot of work of your regulars .i done this recently and got loads of work .once you buy one you will be more inclined to look for the work.

That will do the job, Dont draw water from a tap though if you can avoid. Which you can, The machine will last longer this way, just have a 25 litre barrel with you and let the water from the tap fill this up, then put the house leading from the pressure washer in to the barrel to. It acts like a reseviour. Just make sure it doesnt go empty, If you draw staright from the tap with a machine like that, the water wont flow to the washer, it will get pulled thus putting more strain on the pressure washer.

as for timber you will need chemicals for that, wood is the worst thing you can pressure wash

Like Mr shine said, when you start advertiseing you do pressure washing, put it on your site, leaflets, window cleaned slips, you will start picking up work! get a few jobs and the machine pays for its self.

I don't think the can draw water they need pressure to run mine is almost identical to that

Ah mine doesn't that's why I'm looking for a new one that draws it's own makes life easier

thats not a very powerfull washer and they dont last a mate had one and got rid of it fast he had allsorts of problems with it also i got a lend of it once and found it useless it was very slow and underpowered . there seems to be a bit of confusion regards direct tap fed or barrel fed its all down to the pump size and lpm and the water pressure of the customers outside tap . from my experience on my old washer was a 2500 psi 12 lpm honda and ther was never an issue with direct tap fed you will damage the seal on the pump of most washers if you start with no water running . anything above 12 lpm needs to be drum or barrel fed as the tap pressure would not be able to supply the water fast enough. i reckon you would need to spend a couple of hundred more to get a proper commercial washer otherwise you could buy a washer that is to slow and wont shift stubborn dirt .you will also come across drives that will have gum oil etc that need power to remove.

Sorry last question i will need approx 15m or hose for the lance as i will not be able to get pressure washer close will i need more power

Check gumtree mark see If there are any half decent Hondas second hand..

Jetmac systems do a good range of washers but they are over my side of the water /emoticons/smile.png

same here ive a loncin from jetmac if you come across a honda mark look out for a gx engine type their said to be the most reliable honda powerwasher engine in particular the gx 390
