looking at starting out in this area..any advise?

Are you going to start with water fed pole or trad?

If water fed pole you need to purchase a TDS meter and go from there ... If trad, most window cleaning suppliers will sell you a starter kit to get you going... so you'll just need a decent ladder.

If you can afford it my advice would be to go straight to WFP.
