Received an email from a company wanting me to quote some domestic and commercial solar panel cleaning. I have no problem with the domestic ones, but how much would you guys charge to clean 98 solar panels (wfp) no cherry picker needed, on a commercial property?

Got to be a least £150
i would go for something around this price mark said, there is traveling, extra insurance costs, and depending how long it takes from start to finish, it could be the only job you do in the day

To get on site will take around 45 mins... will know more when I have a look at the job on Sunday...

take me about 10-15 minutes to clean a 18 panel system.

so looking around 2 hours traveling, depending on the building with access etc it could take about 2 hours cleaning. so looking around 4-5 hours for the job.

Hi squeak. Is the building single storey? If so, you will fly around them provided they are not covered in salt. You should do at least 2 panels per minute, making it less than an hours work, plus travelling and set up time. We have done installations that size for about £300 if it is a one off. You can drop the price substantially if they go for regular cleans. Where do you cover with solar cleaning?

Hi Steve

We cover the Yorkshire area for larger solar cleaning (commercial) and West Yorkshire for domestic.

Darran

Ok darran. Would you be willing to talk more if we get a national and need someone to cover that area. We have a contact in place to cover Newcastle so perhaps you could border with him?

Hi Steve

How do you price solar panel cleans, is it per panel or time?

Cheers
Hi deno. Time mate. Plus the cost of machine hire where needed. But the cost is kore hourly than I can do on windows because otherwise there is no point having it as an extra line of revenue.

On a standard window clean quote i allow 2 mins per window pane and then convert to my hourly rate.

So couple of questions if i may,

1: For an easy to reach panel how much time do you allow?

2: What sort of loading do you add over window cleaning, 10 per cent, 20 per cent?

I ask these questions as i live in west australia and we have loads of solar panels, and hardly anyone is cleaning them! so i saw this as an opportunity for me to start /emoticons/biggrin.png

Thank you Steve, I appreciate your time..

er
I never price them by time, most set ups here are around 12-16. I charge a minimum of £30 for upto 16 then £3 per one.

It's classed as a specialist cleaning so you can get away with a little more. I had to buy a 42ft pole to do them, my insurance enter up a little to cover them, so make sure you cover expenses.

Your pricing sounds similar to what i was thinking i'd charge.

Why is your insurance more expensive?
