Interesting question @tench0771 . We haven't heard much of the SL2 poles in a few years now so things will have moved on.

They are modular poles with tapered ends and at one time we often heard of cleaners finding difficulty separating them. Alex sells PTFE dry lube now so I would image this would help prevent this.

In our introduction to carbon poles we modified modular fishing poles which were light and rigid. We stopped the sections seizing into each other with compression by wrapping duck tape at the joins.

But this poles needed to be treat with care as they were easily damaged.
