What sort of van do the WFP guys use on here and how big an operation are you? Looking at getting a van in the coming weeks, it would only be myself using it, and looking at approx 7 hours per day, 5 days per week. What size of tank would you suggest?

Any tips are more than welcome as i've got loads of questions ready to fire off. Ha.

I've a Renault trafic with a 600 litre Ionics system in the back. When I first started and was doing a lot of first cleans I could empty the tank by around 2pm. These days with a lower flow rate I usually have about 1/4 tank left at the end of the day.

You can get larger tanks but if you've got a complete system in the van (filters etc) then you'd be overloaded at the start of the day.

Primastar lwb 115hp with a 650 litre tank, just started in January and as above loads off first cleans so was glad off the bigger tank , now I don't use a tank a day but have about a 1/3rd left at end off day, lwb leaves loads off room for the restoff your gear, if you get the vivaro/primastar/traffic get the 115 bhp version , far better van , I should know I also have the 100 bhp version.

Landrover 110.

I've got a 400 litre tank which stays in all week.

I can still use 4 seats with tank in, so doubles up as family wagon during the week.

This way I don't need a family car and van.

rs2315.

since i started window cleaning i have used

2.5d transits x 2 biggest tank was 650

escort van tank 400 flat, or 250 flat

fiesta car van, 250 flat or 2 x 125

peugheot partner, will fit a 650 in but now use a 400 upright

Renault Kangoo, 350litre tank.

I wfp upstairs and Trad downstairs and with how I use my water and my particular work means I only need filling up once or maybe twice a week.

Would you say it's worth investing in a van straight away before even building up a round? I drive a fiesta so don't have much room to play with plus I wouldn't think it would look professional driving in anything but a van

I'm looking at ford transit, Renault traffic

How did you guys start out with transport when you first started window cleaning

I started with what I've got now, the Renault trafic with a 600 litre Ionics system on lease purchase (finished paying for it about 18 months ago). There's nothing like having to pay out each month to encourage you to go out and find work!!

Fiat Scudo ... 2 sliding doors 400 litre system and still room to put all my jet washing equipment and buckets a trad kit

I made a mistake when 1st going wfp and getting a transit t260 with a 650 system with hindsight far too big for my 95% domestic round however the fuel pump went bang on it so had to buy a van quickly and bought a combo 1700 di which is perfect for me was working 2 up and enough space but now just me so loads of space ... got a 500 tank in back which only gets filled to about 400 level and plenty of grunt from van.
