Here is a Pole Stop I made to stop the hose from getting trapped when standing the pole on the ground. The first one I made around 18 months ago and it has never fell off and has been great, in fact I have never worked without it. So here is how I made it for anyone interested. This I made for an SLX pole but I am sure can be made for any other pole.
First I used some 40mm solvent plastic pipe from wickes and cut a piece around 50mm off
Then cut down the length so it can open up.
Next measure down 12mm and then cut down the 12mm so as to make 3 'feet'
Next score along the 3 pieces to be removed and then snap off with pliers
Tidy up with a craft knife and you should end up with some thing like this
Then cut another piece of pipe around 10mm and then cut a little bit off so that it fits inside the larger piece when on the end of the pole
