hi guys

had a **** week last week , clutch went on the van . and with an MOT pending needing loads of work, decided to get a new one. so 6 grand later with a 3 year loan , got a new ( ish ) one.

I'm just kitting it out now. and was wondering the best way of securing the battery.

In the last van I boxed it in but that was a pain in the **** cos I take it out every night to charge it up.

Any photos/ ideas would be greatly appreciated..

I run my pump direct from the van's own battery but........ in your situation I would just hold it in place via some screw down pipe clips or small pieces of wood etc. I wouldn't box it in or anything to that extent.

Sorry to hear about your van @reliable chris as unforeseen expense like that we can all do without.

It seems popular now on framed tanks to have it on a shelf built into the frame strapped in.

Not the best picture I know. Under the small square of ply sits my 115ah battery. It never leaves the van as it is charged via a smart relay from my van battery. Secured with a ratchet strap.

Here's mine in the blue box down the side of the tank

Mine is wired with a smart relay too. I dont use the van mount every day so the battery stays fully charged.

Ive just screwed down some wooden batons into a rectangular shape around the battery. Lift it in / out and it never slides around. Simple but works.
