help pump problem

my backback pump has stopped working any ideas what could be wrong.?

i have checked all wiring to pump & battery all fine battery fully charged.

wired pump direct to battery still no joy.

Silly question, but when you say that the battery is fully charged are you relying on the charger leds to tell you that or have you put a volt meter on it. If the battery is good it looks like you may need a new pump. How old is the backpack?

Our backpack has an inline fuse.

backpack will be at least 7 years old. battery charged with car charger only months old.

ye has a fuse checked then changed it. this is the ws18 backpack.

That's not a bad lifespan for a backpack pump. I take it the pump was still not working after you changed the fuse?

If there is charge in the battery and wiring the battery directly to the pump does nothing then I would say the pump is at fault. They have a pressure switch so it could be either that or the pump itself.

These guys sell pumps for that backpack.

bilge pumps, diaphragm pumps, RO booster pumps

spruce has a good point about the pressure switch. Can you disassemble it? They usually have a micro switch inside. That may have burned out. Might just have to source and replace that.

I've got a Gardiners backpack that I only use about once a week and have only had it a couple of years. Lately when I turn it on, it buzzes quietly but doesn't pump the water. I have to keep turning the controller on and off, then all of a sudden it will work. Any ideas?
