I also dont understand why u wud push sum 1 in to saying ye... If a person even thinks ermm... I dno u gotta move on cos ther unsure n u only want ppl hu say a definate yes

That's why I think canvassing companies are a bad idea, they push people into it. If it was their round they would feel the same as me about it.

No offence to canvassers but people buy from people, I have a people facing business so it's got to be my face not yours that they buy from as it helps massively.

I have many years in field sales, worked for CPM marketing specialist, Capita, ADP to mention a few. I've sold nearly every thing door to door canvassing and I just don't feel it is worth employing people to do it as people not keen on it these days.

I got off the sinking ship many years ago when there was decent money to be had, people didn't have the Internet and no comparison websites so people were interested, but nowadays most people will not receive you well disturbing their life.

I am door knocking for myself at the moment and it is generally going well, It is either yes or no, I am going to use canvassers because it is the only way I can see to build up fast.

I am hoping it will give me a quick customer base to build on but also I am ready to pick up all the stuff other cleaners have dropped

yeah i did 2 prearanged quotes today from just pposting through, one said yes, tother said they would thinkabout it, i canvassed about and got 3 more jobs thats £53 worth of worm from posting thru with door knocking!!

because hes a canvasser adn only gets paid on results?

The very worst customers imo are the ones that say yes, but u must text/call the day before....they are memebers of the "leave it this month" brigade.

i have a zero tolerance policy to these custy, as soon as they say it when im canvassing they get ripped stright out the book as i walk away from the door...too many good custys out there to let them upset my day.

I never push them into it ever, they do either want it or not. BUT I make sure they get a full pitch to allow me the best chance of getting a deal. I even tell the guys to let them simmer for 3-4 days before we text them .

The reason I get the cleaner to text first is to protect the cleaner, when Ive left that customer they are happy and smiley but they still go no on arrival, but if the cleaner has it on their phone customer cancelled theres no arguments.

Generally if you just knocked a door and said window cleaning its a straight no, even when they want a cleaner. If you get a good pitch out every time you'd be surprised how many people say yes just because of the enthusiasm and value for money and convenience that I'm offering.

It is 100% not a hard sell from my end.

"yes that sounds good but I need to talk to my (husband) (wife) (partner) about it"
one of my best customers said this to me then they rang me 2 days later... lol

Always get their number and you call them, is what I do. If you wait for them to call you you'll starve to death. If they refuse you their number, its a fob off.
