Appropriate titles.

It is a big help to the forum and it's users of you title your threads appropiatley. This way they are found when searched for and also more likely to be read if helpfully titled. .

'Help' is no good - 'Help with setting up DI vessel' is very useful.

'For sale' is a waste of time - 'For sale Gardiners 35ft SLX' will get you responses.

In future all threads that not usefully titled will be deleted as they simply clog up space and do not show up in search results helping other members to find information easily in future.

Yes please everyone. It is in the rules and makes such a difference to the community as a whole. Really helps content discovery for new users and old alike.

Just think it's a bit harsh deleting people's posts if they are genuinely asking for help but not meeting specific criteria.

Deleting may be a little harsh but its really hard there is no point everyone telling new members to use search instead of asking the same question over and over if titles are not used well as their search will retrieve nothing.

It has nothing to do with meeting a criteria @Alien Human it has to do with the user getting the most help possible as quickly as possible.

Lets say you want help setting up an SCR, just putting 'help' as a title will have everyone looking at and it has been bought to my attention that several members find this annoying. Some members will have no experience with an SCR as they are only trad so cant offer 'help' some others will have had theirs fitted by an installer so wont really be much 'help' either, however our technical gurus would be just the lads to ask so simply changing 'help' to 'help setting up SCR' will get the right lads offering the right advice.

It's for all your benefit mate otherwise the forum menu will look something like:

Help

Newbie

Whats best

How much

Wot you think

Why

And so on.

Any one of thos six titles could lead to a thread about setting up an SCR but not one will show up in results if 'Help setting up an SCR' is searched for.

It really is just to help build a better searchable database for everyones benefit.

Is it really to much to ask that you simply inform others as to what it is you want to know or share?
