Urgent help with this big boy backpack!

Recommended Posts

Chris33

Hi,

Can't seem to connect it up right. Could anyone kindly upload or talk me through this please?

The small black pipe that screws into backpack, doesn't seem to connect to the main (yellow) pipe at theother end, with anything I have. I know I'm missing something here but just can't fathom it.

Iv got a big boy back pack must have had it 2 year now. Mine black pipe connect's to the pack with a plastic nut which clamps the pipe as it's tightened and the other end I've got a tap with a female rectus fitting I have these taps with rectus fittings fitted to my other trolley system that I've made and my hose reels. You need to fit a tap on the end that your pole can connect to.

That's the black backpack piping on the right Andy,on left are various attachments that came with this unit.

Nothing seems a direct fit to that yellow plastic screw thingy you can see at other end of black backpack piping.

Confused!

Yeah Halton, I've got the short pipe tightened into backpack no probs it's the connection from other end of that small black pipe to the main yellow piping I'm struggling with bud.

Thanks Lee, failing me getting it together with what I've got here (and after googling what those parts are you mention) I'll just take it all to local plumbing centre tomorrow with your description lol

Think it's the 8mm hose I'm having difficulty with going to the Claber connector

Andy, that goes directly over the 8mm pipe and snaps on at other end yeah? It's either that or hose tail adaptor I'm needing by looks of it. Haha.

Been stressing for days over this too.

Confused!

That yellow connector goes to the pump

The end of the pipe has a lump in it

That end pokes into the plastic connector that is attached to the pump and then the yellow bit screws on

Then on the other end connect with a rectus fitting or hozelock etc to your pole hose

Plumbing suppliers should have a hose repair fitting or similar that joins the 2 hoses with a couple of jubilee clips or fuel pipe clamps to secure it

That'll do it for now

Even more confused now haha,so the black pipe goes from front bottom corner of the backpack then same pipe feeds bk into backpack via the pump?

I'll just take the unit to a Plumb centre tomorrow then yeah, still struggling to understand sorry.

You have a backpack whereas i salvaged that pump from a pump and battery in a box that had a black pipe from the 25l drums and 1 from the pump to pole hose

That's why my pic looks weird to you

You should have 1 visible connection to black pipe which connects with that yellow nut

What have you connected it with?

There are still 2 connections but 1 is internal from tank to pump

You only need to connect the 1 black pipe to the backpack

Either with the yellow nut or any other connector supplied

If the yellow nut fits use that then cut the other end off if you have a connector attached and use something like an 8mm repair piece to join to pole hose

Simple dimple jobs a good un
