View attachment 8805 I've been washing render on a big estate on a couple of places and it's selling like hot cakes!

Most of the people were not aware that the k rend could be cleaned and have been telling their neighbours.

I've been asking £90 a side if there not really bad and not one customer has queried the price.

What do you charge ?

This is a pic of the job that got the ball rolling, £130 cos it was real bad.

I d think so mate. Thats decent money if your just after a wage. But in terms of building a business moving forward i d say you need to up them prices.

Considering how good a job you ve done of it...the difference it makes is well worth more than 130 imo

I think it depends a lot on the area , I do a lot of this type of work prices anywhere from £200 upwards I wouldn't just do the end wall though I would do the whole house , personally I wouldn't want to have all the set up time just to do one wall for that price . Looks like you have done a very good job charge accordingly , I find some people expect you to do it for next to nothing and think ime expensive others feel Ime very reasonable and want it doing imidiatly . Work out your material costs ,fuel ,how much you want to earn per hour ,allow for unexpected things extra hypo or what ever ,see what figure you come up with and add a bit if it seams to cheap

Cheers for the comments, I have got the rest of that house now, they didn't think the rest of the walls were dirty till they saw the gable.

I thought I was under priced because I've had so many enquiries.

Strange thing is I did some at the other end of the development in the summer and found people were not interested which is why I never knocked the rest.

what equipment are you using steve, looks good job you have done. ive been thinking about this but dont know the best gear to start with.

This is great for houss 4 sale. Brighten them up

I just use a wfp pole and an old brush with fan jets to apply the hypo.

I mix it in 25l drums and drop the intake hose from my pump into it.

Seems ok on the pump so far.

I just spray all surrounding walls, paving etc with water from a hose to prevent the hypo run off leaving streaks.

Leave while I have a smoke & cuppa.

Rinse with a hose

Repeat as required.

Couple of things to remember.

Don't let it dry out on brickwork or it leaves white salt stains

Rinse well between applications

Ask yourself how much in paint and then labour to repaint a dirty house like that and then your prices seem cheap in comparison and leaves the same end effect

I would up them a little

Depends how long it takes, probably no more than two hours so I would say £130 is pretty good for a couple of hours work.

Here's the thing.

Cleaners are starting to think 'oh I can get £1000 for that job and £800 for that one' and so on.

You will alway find the odd customer that will pay £1k for something but not many.

I'm guilty myself of very high prices and was in a conversation with a lad not far from me that I have a decent ammount of respect for and his prices for a roof clean for example were half of mine but his diary is full months in advance and he still charges more than an A&E surgeon.

I recently adjusted my pricing a tad and now aim at £40 per hour whilst window cleaning and odd jobs and if it's a full day on one site £240 plus consumables (£30 per hour)

So had I done that gable wall as a 2 hour job I would have been happy with say £90. £40 per hour plus £10 for the hypo.

Today I am on roof cleans and will using some stuff similar to Algon and it's £80 per barrell so it's £240 for the roof £80 for the chemical £320 all in happy days and they are getting a typical semi roof cleaned for very affordable prices.

The side effect of adjusting the pricing is the referals, I used to get the occasional one here or there, now it's 4 or 5 per job.

The effect of fair pricing is that my diary is now choc full till mid March 2017 and is continuing to stay that way.

@Damo made a very valid point on another thread. 'Making £300 is not hard, making £300 consistantly every day is' or words to that effect.

To answer you honestly are you too cheap? I don't think so,a quality job and reasonable pricing will keep you busy for a long time to come.

View attachment 8856 I have adjusted my pricing a fair bit and did a couple of jobs today for a total of 540 cash.

I had three people approach me while I was there and got all three but added £20 to the prices I got for today's work.

One man said he had been asking painters to paint it but they wouldn't do it as it's k rend

He is made up with the price.

I am leafleting/ canvassing the rest tomorrow.

I have been doing driveways etc for years but I have never done a job that's drawn so much attention from the neighbours.

Most of them were not aware that k rend could be cleaned and I think will be happy to pay more for what they consider a specialist job

The down side is I'm falling behind with my windows

That is why i deliberately never have a full weeks work booked..always do a 4 day week tops on the glass

I always find something lucrative to fill the space and it breaks the monotony up also

Lovely job mate
