Syphon from tank to backpack?

Hi.

Was wondering how any of you fill your backpack from the tank? I had been using a hose to syphon but it keeps curling then becomes impossible. Do any of you syphon the water? How do you do it without having to mess with curling hose?

We don't syphon but gravity fill our drums using a 1" tap and hose out the bottom of the tank. Got a fuel pump handle to stop and start the flow. Takes a bit longer as the day goes on as we lose the head pressure.

Is the tap connected to your main outlet in some way?

Ok so the outlet where the link and drum fill point are do you use some type of splitter?

Yep exactly. One tank is 1", drum fill hose is 1" and second tank is 10mm. Called our local hydraulic fitter and he supplied the parts for it. Can get plastic pond fittings but they will go brittle over time so buy once buy for life

Ok sorted. Im going to have a look for some kind of splitter. Gravity fed from the outlet sounds like it will be much more straight forward than messing with curled up hose pipe. Cheers for that mate [emoji106]

Temporarily you could put the syphon tube in a length of John Guest 22mm tubing to keep it straight
