Help setting up gocardless. What payment option?

Just had my first customer set up on gocardless via a link on my website and unsure what payment option to set up?

I want to take the money only after I've cleaned. Is it a "one-off payment" or a "paylink"?

Are you using the GC website? 

If so, you go to the customer list, select the customer, at the top right click 'create' on the drop down menu that appears select payment. This will take you to a create payment screen where you put in the amount, a reference and the date you want it to take the payment (by default it'll just take it asap).

This will then create a one off direct debit.
