squeeking claber reel, just spray wd40???

Basic I know. Maybe cant do anything about it, as its just a cheap plastic reel, but wondered if wd40 would stop the squeek. All you claber reelers out there, do you have a cure?

I used a silicon dry lube spray on mine ,but wd40 should do the same thing

I use gt85, you can get it cheap from Aldi, £3 a pop if I remember rightly? It's a lubricant ptfe spray which I use on my pole as well and boy does it glide nice after a wipe down.

If you have had the reel around one year I would check the metal discs/sides as from the screws on the side the metal can start to tear and cause a similar noise
