Section 1 SLX - Section 1 issue

My section 1 has for a long time needed a strip of tape to be able to clamp it as it has worn down.

The tape nolonger works I need to lacquer it, the clamp just scapes of the tape now.

Does anyone have any recommendation for a decent lacquer?

What will work better than lacquer is a thin application of Epoxy resin. If you mix up a small amount and then very thinly spread it on the needed area. When dry sand off any high spots.

I applied the stuff Alex suggested maybe 8 months ago or so and it worked a treat. Haven’t needed to use any more since then.
