Hi guys, I've recently put on some red pvc hose off ebay on my waterfed pole which is great for stopping my univalve leak. I don't know if this is down to it being 6mm inner diameter as most pole hose seems to be 5mm inner diameter. I did have the yellow reinforced gardiner hose but it made my univalve leak all the time. The problem with the red hose is its made my pole significantly HEAVIER. Is the gardiner green hose lightweight?? Also does it work well with univalve? As i can't be doing with continuous leaks! Any advice?

I have been testing Gardiners new green pu hose for them and have to say it’s very good it’s no heavier than any other pole hose on the market , it’s great with hot water very little stretch , very robust pulling it around pebble dash walls no damage done to it and we are hard on hose , we don’t use univalves but Ime sure it would be fine with them , I would recommend it it’s good hose .

In 4 months time, with pinching the hose the hose it will split, which is what I found, I must have managed to nip it in the same place every time between windows, so now it's in the garage with the rest of my collection of pole hose.

We have used ionics orange , exceed Inovation blue , for a number of years and I have never had it split through pinching it and sticking it up the end of the pole , and now Gardiners green pu we do exactly the same only been using it a couple of months but no splitting or sighns of damage yet  , don’t know if hot water prevents this ?. The only time we have experienced hose splitting  through pinching is on our softwashing set up the hypo damages the hose eventually and that does then split as the hose goes hard .

I'm using the original Gardiner's green PU pole hose which I believe has a 5.5mm ID. Works perfect for me with a univalve. I also fold it regularly to stop the flow. Depends largely on my mood which method I use. It's not split yet and I've been using it pretty much since they introduced it. Due to it's not being a braided hose it's also very light in the pole.

y'know, the gardiners green pu hose is probably the best I've tried over the years, yes its a proper pain until it beds in and changes a few shades in colour then its perfect, this is used with hot all day long and lays flat on the ground everytime all my poles have univalves on and it doesn't effect the hose at all and I can't feel the weight difference in the hose compared to the previous all seasons one, I use extremes so any weight difference is easily noticed.

as for leaks I don't have them so maybe it could be the hose clamp or the way you are fitting it or clamping it all up?- its possible mate as we are not all perfect and sometimes even the simple procedure of clamping a hose can involve more specialist tools than pliers.

It could very well be the hot water, or I'm just unlucky

I’ve settled on the rhino pole hose ,  lot better then others imo

I've never been able to justify the price as there has never been enough feedback on it, to do so.
