Seemed to have gut some kind of glue/silicone on the bristles of the brush when cleaning a conny roof. Soaked the whole thing in boiling water and detergent and it did nothing! Any ideas?

Got bird repellent fire gel (not related to lighting bbqs) on one of my brushes a few years back that almost destroyed it. It was an extremely sticky and gooey substance. Took a soaking in boiling water and biological washing powder to remove 95% of it followed by a carpet cleaning solution I happened to have at hand that someone recommended to get it to a useable condition again. Nothing else I tried worked. Nearly had to throw it away

Since then I’ve always carried a spare brush
