Hey guys, looking for some suggestion on making a hole in this mesh (pictured below) or some other idea to get the poles through?? Thanks in advance!

It looks like our van is a Partner or Berlingo  like mine. I just cut a circle using my pipe tubes as a template with  the sharp edges on a pair of pliers and it came off pretty easy.

 
I have a solid metal bulkhead and used a 4 inch hole saw and shoved a soil pipe through the hole, im assuming you could do similar with a pair of wire cutters, then shove the soil pipe through so the sharp ends dont damage the pole.
