Is it sad that i do this ??? lol

The only thing you would need to be strict with is that your workmanship standard does not suffer.

I would never do this as basicly I can't be arsed lol its bad enough finding the house that's next on a sheet then filling out a card cause there out and marking them down why cause yourself even more grief

can remember 1 lad who worked for me ,at one house the 2 of us used to time from opening the gate latch [run down path ,clean, get money] then stop clock when the latch closed again. breaking the record all hinged on how quickly the old biddy rose up from her chair to pay.

It seems a pretty good idea, But couldn't be bothered messing around with a stop watch, Having to try and get away from customers so you can get on with the next takes up enough time.

iv been doing this for a while now( 8 months)i have a stop watch on my phone and i time myself per house and on my work notes i write down how long it takes for each house . im not talking flat out trying to beat myself every time but it just keeps me motivated (these 4 house should take an hour and earn xxx amount of money). it keeps me to a time frame plus its good for me to keep my hourly rate up .sometimes it goes out the window when custy brings out a brew and chat for a bit lol (which i don't mind). anyone else do silly thing like this ???

Yeah, always, every thing comes from this really; even if you don’t do it, you still have to go to work and spend so many hours cleaning windows, and you might as well know what your margins are.

Measuring your time is one of the main things that you can do; improving your window cleaning method and increasing the amount of money you can earn, go hand in hand.

Having a natter is all part of the game as can bring in loads more extra work.

Lets just say I don't just talk about the weather as i'm a salesman at heart /emoticons/biggrin.png

if a customer comes out with a brew and wants to chat no worries its all pr ,the friendly you are the more trust between you and your customer and you'll find there telling people about you... hence more work .

Well there's having a natter and chopsing with every customer. Actually it's not about stopping for a chat, sometimes you need that little break. It's the overall picture that you need.

I find that a quick cuppa and a natter is sometimes needed to give you a boost for the next couple of jobs..can actually speed me up a bit when I am struggling a bit

its part of the job...some days you get caught...even the runner me gets caught some days and i just think of all the days they dont catch me....like today....i a happy chappy....and its even better when they pull on the drive just as your washing your applicator on another job and so you can catch em before they get in...

ohh....its not that bad then boar to....er....think ...if hes at the kitchen window ...and hes bad on his pegs...i can do the patio before he can get there....old biddys ...i just love em...sob....doesnt mean ...silly old bag at all....

Normally just one job a day is enough for me then it's nap time /emoticons/wink.png

I always seem to be behind schedule rather than In front......forever chasing the day.....partly due to all of the customers who want a chat. I have about 50 houses on one private estate. Its a really nice place with nice people....trouble is, i have got to know a lot of them really well and somedays its almost impossible to get on because of people passing by and wanting a chat. Mind you, i do like certain ladies on the estate to call by for a chat;)

The ones that make me laugh are when you think there is no one in, then just as you finish the front door opens and they appear! I have named these stealth customers /emoticons/smile.png

yep been caught a few times like that...

ahh mr taytay quick carrier pigeon me another beer...its run out...

oh god..some boffins with jokes on beeb two ...very funny...i a right geek...
