no i dont but would like to find a hose reel that could be bolted on my back door of my van with a weather proof motor to reel it in, bcos im fed up of lugging it in and out of the van at every job.
If you have to reel out the hose fully during the course of the day, it would be very helpful as you could pack up other stuff while the hose is being reeled in by its self.Do people think that saving a minute and half a minute there, using an electric reel to wind-in their hoses is going to make a massive difference to their working day.......it's not THAT time consuming to reel it in by hand.A heavy type hose I could understand, but come-on........mini/micro bore hose....paaah....man-up /emoticons/biggrin.png.
i think what im going to do on monday is time how long i spend setting up and packing up and let you know.Do people think that saving a minute and half a minute there, using an electric reel to wind-in their hoses is going to make a massive difference to their working day.......it's not THAT time consuming to reel it in by hand.A heavy type hose I could understand, but come-on........mini/micro bore hose....paaah....man-up /emoticons/biggrin.png.
Make a shelf at the back of the van for the hose-reel to be at your waist height, the reel can be fixed/clipped in place by using plastic pipe clips.i think what im going to do on monday is time how long i spend setting up and packing up and let you know.
No need for 'import tax' buy British /emoticons/wink.png......How much for import tax? Thats a hell of a lot cheaper than the english version i saw the other month at that trade show mark m organised in cornwall
Depending on which reel you have, the reel frame should clip into these.....anyone know what kind of fittings and bolts i would need to fix my hose reel to the back of my van? and what do i do about the water feed?
This is true, but if you are able to operate the electric reel by remote, then you can 'supervise' the rewind at the loop or twist that can do the damage. I've lost count of the times I have had to leave the hose reel and go back to the end of the hose and unhook it from an obstacle it has found.I too pull out to the furthest window, and I do use 100 metres quite often on some of the Mansions I do. I find reeling in the full length can be a pain so I go and pull the end back to the reel then go out and halve it again then pull that back to the reel. It reels in easily then.
I like the idea of an automatic reel but don't like the fact that you have no control. You wont feel it snag if it wraps itself around a plant pot or something. So there is a chance of doing some real damage to something that the customer values.
Smurf is pretty good at taking photographs of setups. I like these reels on Shazzy's trailer. It could be that as the reels are so big and narrow, a self layering device wouldn't be necessary.I took a sneaky pic of this van whilst waiting at a junction /emoticons/biggrin.png
