What's so special about ecover?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

i think Ecover works well if you are in a soft water area
unfortunately im not ,its hard water here, so hard you have to apply a fresh line of soap to your Tbar at each house

for ages i used the W5 washing up liquid from lidl ,[not the concentrated,i found that didnt mix into water quickly enough] i found W5 great stuff in hard water , but it takes its toll on your hands ,stings after a while and with employing workers i feared a possible compo claim.

About a year ago i switched over the Magnum from Aldi, looks exactly the same as the W5 but its not the same . whatever its ingredients are its milder on your skin than W5 and good if not better slip. if you are in a hard water area i recommend it
Just bought the Aldi Magnum stuff today. Haven't used it yet. How much do u put in? And do you use it alongside flash?

No I live in a soft water area. But I live close to the sea, so the windows get quite dirty with salt. I have tried Ecover but I find it doesn't have great slip.

it also tends to dry out pretty quick, which isn't ideal when it's summer. I got the premium stuff, so will give a go this week and see how I get on.

im now using persil i find it very good ive diched the ecover an flash i find persel is good on salty glass an also gets finger prints off to easly

ecover / flash works well for me the flash helps the squeegee glide

shops insides different story "etorre squeegee off "works great greasey finger marks easy

down side hard on your hands drys them out

I don't think you can beat ecover but I am in a soft water area
it makes for a totally different job if the waters soft. now and then i use rainwater in my bucket and its a joy to work with, whereas with hard water from my tap it never really mixes properly with the washing up liquid and has very few if any bubbles .

Been using ecover since staring this post now using it with flash 2.5x concentrated

What a good combo

I never need to detail much anyway but this combo leaves no marks like fairy does and the glass shines well after

When I started I used Fairy liquid, but I found that it went a bit 'gloppy' in the cold. Then Persil liquid came out and I tried that and it was very good. One day I was on a job and a bit of a way from my van and found that I needed more soap, and the lady of the house gave me hers to use. it was really brilliant stuff called Bio-D; one of these ecological brands. What struck me most was the fact that it was all natural ingredients and so good. there was only one shop that sold it, and that was the local health-food shop, it wasn't cheap at £2.20 for a litre. So I have been using that now for about six years. Just recently I bought some and it had gone up to £2.30 for three quarters of a litre. I'm happy with that as I don't use too much. With regard to Ecover, I have been looking for that for a long time, out of interest, and today found a lonely solitary bottle on the shelf at Tescos! This is also a natural product the same as Bio-D.

£2.25 a litre ecover is bit I think it is well worth it

Especially since the taxman pays for it anyway

my gut feeling is that this ecological name tag is a sham . what soap occurs in the natural world ? . id bet if you drank a slug of it youd be sick

I've built up a niche professional exterior property cleaning business with a very good reputation rather than just becoming another window cleaner in my area that can also offer different services.
Most of my work like I've mentioned before customers already have window cleaners but I'm not trying to sound big headed I'm simply very good at what so ppl are happy to pay a premium for my work.

It's very different now from when I started, it was all about price then.

When this eco stuff first came out it wasn't that good, but today it has much Improved. The Bio-D that I use is lemon (degreaser), sodium(mild abrasive) and glycerine (soapy), pure natural. Ecover has similar things in it. When they say that Fairy is kind to your hands, you can rub Bio-D into your hands and it's like these hand gels that you can buy.

Been mixing flash and ecover in one bottle and putting a line of it on the applcator

Using a lot less now and not dunking my hands in bucket of it..just water in bucket

Or sometimes mixing with water in a bottle and squirting that on applicator
