Cheapest way into wfp?

WCF

Help Support WCF:

Moderately hard according to my postcode, and I kept tropical fish for years in a house about 500 yards away, that was also slightly hard.

Any thoughts on this? seems the cheapest system I have seen so far.

You will still need some kind of water container(s), pump, and power. It's cheap because everything you need is not there.

If you're thinking of going into WFP, do it once and do it properly. That means spending a few quid unfortunately.

This is just an example if you bought a complete trolley system if you're working from a car http://www.thecleaningwarehouse.co.uk/water-genie-complete-di-packages-1413-p.asp

If you have a van, I'd make a DIY van mount.

Do check your TDS first. If you have a high TDS (not necessarily the same as hard of soft water BTW), then you will need a Reverse Osmosis unit. If a low TDS like me, then you can get away with DI only.

The cheapest way to buy a DI vessel, is to get a standard 2nd hand vessel off eBay, there are always ones going for not a lot of money.

The package you mentioned had an ali pole. If you want to start with an ali pole, then buy a Harris painters extension pole and convert it into a WFP by fitting a WFP angle adaptor on the end - A much cheaper option. Ali poles are fine to start with, but you will probably upgrade after a while as they are a bit bendy and heavy for long term use. But, many people have started with them including me. I still use Harris poles for some things.

Thanks a lot for the info and advice guys, much appreciated.

I work from a L200 pick up, but I also have gutter vac and pressure washer in the back, might be able to get a 200l tank in there though, it is something I am considering.

hi ....i have the pole listed...my banana....its er...very heavy and very bouncy....but ...it does the job...fully extended...i added an extra section....horizontal.....that is very hard to hold..but maybe...i am weak..

i also bought the 100gpd ro unit...very good ..but i bought the pump...it takes...one hour twenty to fill a twenty five litre barrel...

if you move to the listing with the same seller as wfp system for £300 thats what i have with a pump and extra section came to £365....of course its cheapncheerful and if i had the money....slx here i come..but...it does the job....and pure is pure.../emoticons/biggrin.png

Looks good, how long does the battery last?
Check on that thread to be sure.

You would need to charge every day, and personally, I would put in a bigger battery than 9AH if I was using it as an all day solution.

yep been great so far...although the trolley could do with being a bit bigger..the 35 litre would be my choice now.../emoticons/biggrin.png having said that...its bloomin heavy full and fits nicely behind my seat in the footwell...so maybe not..

Sorry, another question for you cheapncheerful does the battery in it last you all day fine? can't seem to find any mention of it on the selling info.

yeh it lasts a good while...and simple to plug in and charge...had no real problems with it but...the wheels are not brilliant...he does say that in the listing...

i have only ever used it on minimum setting even with the pole fully extended...and on that setting its quiet too...a nice cap which you can carry it with and big enough so you can load with water...

the only problem i have had is the hose tangling but...thats not this back packs fault....thats just the curse of wfp...

oh and if you get it...let me know how you attach the back pack straps...although...i wouldnt lift it full...

cant really tell you much on the battery as i only use the two twenty five barrels and the 18 litres in the back pack and then i recharge whilst making the next batch of pure....

which i plan to do on monday...
