Did you always love it [cleaning windows]

I love it. I love the the freedom, the exercise, the totty, the fresh air and the sun on my skin, the friendly customers who ply me with cake and tea, not having a boss, being able to choose when you work (which happens to be 6 days a week), the challenges and overcoming them....the list goes on.

There are downsides, obviously....the frosty mornings when it feels like your fingers are falling off, the wet days when you are pacing the decks and some of the dodgy quotes where you should have known better........but we learn over time.

Did I mention the milfs;)

I hate any kind of work now if I'm honest. Also how can anyone say they love cleaning windows? all I can say they must have ocd or something /emoticons/biggrin.png

Oh well each to their own I guess. The last time I was enthusiastic about something was when I first got married but sadly that did not last very long /emoticons/biggrin.png

We are sick individuals smurf

My wife had all the kids she wanted then said no... the first couple of years was fun while it lasted /emoticons/biggrin.png

I'm really enjoying it to be honest.

I am an electrician by trade, but suffered a heart attack when I was 27, so decided electricity was something I wanted to play with anymore.

Put me out of work for around a year, by which time my Nan was ill and I became her full time carer but started doing vending part time as well, which I never really enjoyed that much, and then it started getting silly, used to be 3 of us in the area with a good working relationship, if we walked into a site and someone had a machine we would walk away and leave it, but then some Asians from Birmingham and Coventry decided they wanted our "turf" and started playing nasty, stealing machines, telling sites we had gone out of business and telling them they were taking over etc and it became a complete nightmare.

Decided to get into pressure washing initially but soon found that the work while good paying was very sparodic, some week flat out, then nothing for 2-3 weeks so decided to start getting a little bit of window cleaning on the side to tide me over, soon realised I enjoyed it and now in the process of turning window cleaning into the primary part of the business and pressure washing the add on to it.

Love working for myself and slowly building it up from the ground!

Don't accuse me of racism but I have seen my mates have the same problems with the car wash businesses round here..them asian guys give em all a bad rep

Ukip???

thats the good thing with this forum, you can give an honest opinion about "how it is " on the streets . i was booted off the cleanitup forum several times for telling my experience of working for the eastern asia lot .

whoever is the main mod on that forum has a vested interest in promoting or selling to the eastern lot

It isn't racism unless you make derogatory comments about a particular race..to be honest you get ###s in all walks of life

recall a poster on that forum saying hed had loads of the injuns on his round and EVERY ONE had been as good as gold , plus good tippers!

at that point i knew it was barefaced lies

i reached break point about a year ago with the asians i had on my round and struck the whole lot off ,many who had been with me 4/5yrs so how could i be racist , id served my time , but theyd never said thank u in a genuine voice in all that time
