Could maybe be done with a bit of luck, my best day when I used to do it last year was £250 monthly work canvassing all day on a saturday. There was 2 of us and we did take on a few awkward houses but we were just starting out. Im starting again so ive got alot of canvassing to do too, good luck with it mate /emoticons/smile.png

This thread gets me pumped right up! Just on the verge of beginning my own business , just starting off on weekends first then see how it goes . Ordering 1k flyers this week along with polo shirts with my company name so I look more professional . Can't wait to work hard for myself and reap the benefits like you sir !

I went out last night for the 2nd time only for an hour 5pm till 6pm. Gained 7 customers all from £8-£10 . Only small terrace houses too that won't take me long after the first clean. Gonna get back out on Tuesday around the same area n see what's cracking there! First time canvassing... Only been out twice and both times knocked on the first door and both people said yes /emoticons/smile.png boosted my confidence as I feel like a right wkaner knocking on people's doors!

May as well make a quick update, 15 months later i'm now at max capacity. I can't really take on anymore, the jobs I do take on I make sure they are high payers and swap with a low paying or slow paying customer. I don't even use a mobile anymore, the thing drives me nuts ringing all day. I'm now just using email, much better, I can contact people on my own time and I don't have to keep checking voicemails etc.

So you probably want numbers, I use Aworka as my booking software, the income forcast states £41,000 and this fluctuates slightly over time when changing jobs. I'm quite happy how things are going at the moment. I did have an employee for a while but payments etc stressed me out, the company was good, but having to take on extra work just so I could pay someone else seemed pointless. Much easier lone working.

Good luck to anyone starting out

just read your threads for the first time ,what a great story, just goes to show if your committed you will get there in the end well done!

I've just sat and read through this thread. Brilliant stuff. It just goes to show that in this game you really ARE a master of your own destiny. If you can be arsed you will get paid!!!!!! Well done Steele great stuff mate

What a great thread. This has inspired me so much. I have had some set backs, money, personal issues but I am startting finally later in the week and will be flyering, putting cards in stores, PO, door knocking for as long as the day lasts. Maybe I should do somthing like this, It may inspire someone else starting like myself again, I just hope I can get some sucsess like yourself evena bit of it would be great.

I think this site is a really great place and for me the best site out there for the sheer fact people on here really do look out for your interests and offer great honest advice. Cheers for the thread steele. Inspirational!!!!

My goal is to get as close to £2000 worth of work in the next 4 weeks on canvassing. Can it be done?? :Image11:
I did design a flyer but decided against spending that money until I have a few custys and thought I could just print off something simple, so this Is was I used:

It was a hot Saturday (30c +) so I dressed as smartly as I could in shorts and a shirt and got to work on my street which in mostly small maisonettes and 2/3 bed houses.

Today I gained 10 new customers in 3 hrs, this included a stop at a pub for a refreshing cider :Image3:

5 - 4 weekly

5 - 8 weekly

All on the same street for total of £67

Will go out again tomorrow!

i reckon ya got bal-s of steele

well done great thread

I had a way of canvassing over thirty years ago. When I got a result with a customer, I asked them if their neighbour would want their windows cleaned. They usually said they did not know, but worth asking. I would then knock next door, and say "I'm cleaning your neighbours windows tomorrow, and they said you might like yours cleaned also." Mostly they would say yes, as they wanted to keep up with their neighbour.

It worked for me.
