Gutter camera

WCF

It would have been risky if not impossible to do as it was over big extension and very wet tiles on the roof.with gopro quick from small ladder to change the angle of vacuum poles to get into the gutters and between roof tiles.

That one in the pic was on the corner where a conservatory was in the way so had to put my ladders on the corner of the house to get to it. I tried using the vac with a head that fits into downspouts to suck it out first but the roots where stopping it coming out. When I took the joints apart I could hardly remove it with my bare hands and I'm no weakling either. The others on that property at the front were just as awkward to do.

The other house had a very large and deep ground floor pitched roof extension that went right across the back of the house so tile walking was the only option on that one. The front was also awkward to get to by ladders.

I could have tried my pressure washer & telescopic lance to jet it all blockages clear but would have only got so far as the roots would have still been there to cause future blockages. Likewise when broken tiles and mortar gets stuck in them the only way to do the job properly is to take the joints apart.

Oh the joys of gutter clearing /emoticons/biggrin.png

I've a full head of hair but caught myself on the camera so was surprised it did not break.... face for radio and all that /emoticons/biggrin.png

Anyhow regarding doing a guttering inspection on each quote. I've decided last night as a test to update my site and charge an optional £10 if customers want it do. Then if they decide to take up my services I will deduct the £10 guttering inspection charge off the bill.

I will monitor if this affects the amount of enquires coming through and who if any wants to pay £10 to have there gutters checked properly. I've already had a couple of enquires come through this morning but that seems the norm as it's raining & very windy.

Its a great little camera but you need an engineering degree to know how to turn it off! Even following the instructions doesnt always work!
