Hi!

The small (hopefully) issye I have is my tds has crept up lately to 14 without me noticing and what I want to do is drain my tank dry and fill.it up with 000 tds water. My only question is if I do.that am I running.the risk.of creating air pockets and problems with water flow or is.it safe to.do.so ? When working I am always careful not.to drain.it completely because of fear of the above. Thanks for.all the info fellow windys :)

If you are worried about airlocks just drain the tank as much as you can.

Leaving a little high tds water in the tank shouldn't be too much of an issue as it will be dilluted with pure. It might register a couple of tds points but you will still be able to clean with it. Next few fills should bring it down to zero. That's been our experience anyway.

We never have a problem with airlocks on our upright tanks.

Always drained my tank from work or emptying it to scrub clean , I've never experienced any problems with airlocks m8

If you drain it and fill it up then just unclip it from the reel and run at at full whack until you see the water flow nicely. Takes about 20 seconds.

Personally if you start producing 0 water why drain it all? Windows can be done with 14 without spotting. Just use a tad more water and if your tub Is half full fill it with pure then it'll only be 7 and less as you progress. Well that's the method I'd be tempted to use if the drum is large.

Thanks spruce.and everybody have already filled.it.up from nearly empty it is.reading 002 at the minute.so happy days my.worry was because I have expwrienced airlocks.in the system.in the past and.took and good.while.to get rid.and get the system fully functioning again. Thanks everybody once again :)

Can't do that on a trolley system.
On a trolley, with an airlock leave the pump running and bring the pole to ground level so the pump is not fighting gravity when pushing the air out. The airlock should clear in a few seconds.

I'm always getting air locks on my trolley, it's bloody annoying wacking it up to 99 lol.

Check your one way valve on the strainer I had trouble with the spring ,, ended up binning it and using a new smaller one

I find if I let the barrel run dry which happens it quicker to unplug my hose , then press in the the stop valve in the hoselock connector with my finger to get rid of any air . Takes seconds .... ( also turn it up to 30 on the Pf controller , then back down to normal settings )

:thumbsup::thumbsup:Ar I remember you now. That's a good trolly you built bud
Them propumps are great mate. I was getting them for around £13.50 each on Ebay. The one in the Trolley is still going strong, after nearly a year, and instantly goes on/off with the AquaTap on the pole. /emoticons/smile.png
