How do you go about finding out who owns the property?
I ask around the local village, spark up a chat with the local landlord and just ask the postman. More than once I have had the postman/lady just turn an envelope around so I can glimpse the addresee.

Here's what I post:

I cut them out and then post. Does wonders for me. The ink in my printer has been paid for time and time again! /emoticons/smile.png

I had some flyers from easyprint.co.uk 250 design yourself for free. Didn't even have to pay postage! It's not a lot but it helped me get started. They still have the offer on.

Yeah I have been getting really nicely done, pro flyers for about 8 months now, and to be honest not impressed with the amount of custom I have been getting, think I am going to try some cheaper style ones and see if that improves things, as from research it would appear they perform better.

I got a massive response from them! I posted 65 and got 7 calls /emoticons/smile.png
Wow! impressive, never had a response like that from any of my flyers.

Cheap and cheerful looks like the way forward lol

I think home made flyers get a good response at times, because the readers have perseption they'll get a bargain, from a local lad. I used home made flyers when I started, then home made brochures, and did well off them. Now, I wouldn't use them for three reasons. I want a fair price for my time and would rather a professional representation of my business, and two, its not that expensive to have flyers printed, and it takes up allot less of your time.

I have just ordered 2500 of the flyer below, for £60. It would have been at least £30 in costs for home made black and white flyers, using an ink jet printer, plus I would have had to sit and giloteen 1250 sheets of paper to get them a5.

That is a similar flyer to what I currently have, but mine is double sided with what I do on the back.

Its not working for me at all.

what printer av u Diwrnach? and somebody mentioning the chore of guillotining , thats not a chore, its bloody luxury but it is a chore if youre using duff kids scissors .

i kinda miss printing leaflets. not sure why

i did it every year in the Xmas break. but my rounds almost full so itd be madness to dole out more + my workers hated doing it .

Use a local shop, one man band kind of place, though I have used I love flyers that are on here I think that is what they are called.

Though I am considering either printing my own, or getting some far more basic versions done at vista print.

I agree to a certain degree that you need to be professional but you can still acquire quality work at the price you want; you just have to cleverly word it. I can charge people quite a premium price but word it in my pitch so it sounds reasonable. I've not had anyone ever complain about my prices and I'm charging a good amount.
