My rhubarb wine takes a good long while to be nice but then tastes like a decent wine from a shop

Frosts soon so the sloes will be ready in a little while

I wait till the first proper frost then pick em for my vodka and gin

grrrrrrr ya bggers.....me got nowt ta drink....well i got my pure......last night whilst making the tea i picked up my glass of pure....only it wasnt my glass of pure....it was the wifes malibu awaiting some coke....hmmmm that woke me up....

worked out okay for me today.....i was very slow as usual getting ready because it wasnt nice outside and so started out late and decided to go local but ....they were all home so thought sod that and headed out to a job in the sticks i havent been since before the storm of slime whenever that was.....he caught me last week trying to book the wifes car into the garage and he booked it in for monday then changed it to tuesday so i suspected he would be in...:specs

so i was pleasantly surprised to find no cars on the drive...i rushed like mad to get banana going and wfp the lot....and just on the last window he turned up....gave me the £20 result....i couldnt wait to get back on the road...well its a funny place...all little squares and filthy inside windows...all curtains drawn..millions of dogs barkin...why bother?...still i dont care as long as i get my money..

then i tried another area that i havent been to for ages....i promised i would go tomorrow and so if i could knock a couple off i would be happy...

i can confirm....it was windy....and why i chose to do these particular jobs when they back onto a valley.....derrrrrrrrr

i was mainly worried about stepping off the ladder as in....would the ladder still be there when i got back....

on the last one i knocked on the door no reply so got stuck in but i knew she was somewhere about....in howling gales and rain i finished it but....i put on the note...will finish tomorrow...

i came home early expecting the weather to laugh at me with nice sun but......after a brief laugh....i think the world is coming to an end....so for once a right decision...theres always tomorrow...and thank god for those nice plastic window ledges that you can hold on to..../emoticons/biggrin.png

I went shopping with the mrs. instead and purchased some e-cover. Eye'd up a few crackers walking around and had a pie for lunch... Will have to step it up a gear out on the round tomorrow.

well lads forecast looks better tomorrow thankfully....cheers....its alright...i love da pure.../emoticons/biggrin.png you keep chatting about drinks i dont mind.....bloo dy wife....she just says im greedy...but...guess who has loadsa bottles of malibu in the cupboard..

its never as bad as you think it is , iv found that out countless times . hold onto the sill if you think its blowing you. as for rain, if its really tippin it down we stop and seek shelter in cafe ,but otherwise it all goes on as normal. workloads to high not to

ya like da weather girls too mr taytay..! good coz i way behind....shall i tell you one area....just how far behind....well...i last cleaned em....before the summer holidays..oops...and i really wanted next week off...can you arrange for it to pee it down all next week....mind you....i have to go out on monday already....oh booooo only a little job but.....booooooo

I understand ppl have to earn a wage but putting themselves at unnecessary risk in high winds I think is just plain stupidity.

As for employers they have a duty of care to their staff not just to say to them if you don't work you don't get paid.

its always difficult to imagine how others work , on the forum you can imagine the worst or the best and still not know anything . i personally cleaned gutters on ladders today in a brief lull in the weather and i dont take risks . my workers are never expected to take risks , no point in that . but they are expected to work in the rain and are told that at interview

Now that Is behind cnc.....but your banana pole must be speeding you up

Boar i have subbed from a firm like that and if i thought it was too extreme i still had the option to say no

Bad weather is ok but it is down to the individual to decide yes/no on each particular job as they may not feel safe

yep mrtaytay banana has saved my day twice off late.....i am still shy in getting it out....wait for it...banana i meant...but boy...when she does get going she sure speeds things up...always though...i estimate where to leave the backpack to reach as most windows as possible and of course....grrrrrr.its always two foot too short to reach the final window...grrrrr

i felt safe on my doubled up heavy ladder but its just you have to leave it to go and clean on flat roofs etc and that i didnt like...it took me ages being brave enough to leave my ladder alone and doing this one window i could just seeing it blowing away and me stuck on a roof...i wouldnt recommend working but .....you just cant tell what its going to do...one minute i was too hot next i was cold...and was it going to rain...or not...well thankful i got it right today...

Thats one of my fears when conditions are windy......leaving the ladder propped up against a flat roof whilst working on a window and seeing it tumble sideways onto the custies posh car...or the custy:eek:
