Pole hose ?

Hi @Jackjoewill

My first mini hose reel was a Karcher HR25 but they're silly money now! Just switched to a Claber Aquapony (I think)

I searched for reels with a garden hose capacity of 15-25m... if it can hold more than that it'd probably be too big & cumbersome. Got a fairly unused £40 Claber reel lurking in my loft as testament to that! lol

Try eBay, Amazon, Screwfix... some DIY places might stock mini hose reels, although I've found they seem to be stocking them less & less.

I hook the reel over the top prong (?) on the back of the trolley handle & I've bent the lower prong out of the way so that the reel hangs a bit better. I'll try to upload a couple of pics.

As for trolley spares... I've not needed any (cue equipment breakage within first hour of work on Monday! lol)

It's been a solid performer for me for the last 2 years... everything is still original!

I just make sure I charge the battery every night & make sure I leave it fully charged if I'm not using it for a couple of days.

Good pics SPEC14L. Reels are a must for max efficiency with a trolley in my opinion.

But if I bought my Trolley in our living room I think my missus would MURDER me!! /emoticons/biggrin.png:D

look at all the information on this one post, no wonder we are all better off thanks to this forum and our special

members well done and nice one

Jackjoewill. I use the Gardiners allseason pole hose. 30 meters on a reel attached to the Trolley.I like it because its supple, light and doesnt coil up. I dont use an inline tap. I use the aquaTap.That is a very tidy hose. Wish mine looked like that. I'm using nlite pole hose after my gardiners yellow hose kinked up, which became annoying, but the nlite hose has a textured cover, which picks up muck easily, not good for inside of pole, also doesn't go into john guest push fit connections that well and also kinks up, so probably an operator issue. Think I might try the Orange gardiners pole hose next.

I use 30m of pole hose on a reel that I can use on my daqua trolley or my gardiners backpack that I also put on a trolley.

Agreed! I did my first couple of months without a reel... not very quick & it was a right faff... very frustrating!

To me, a spare reel is almost as important as a spare pole! (maybe a bit of an overstatement! lol)

The trolley has to live in the house cos 'er indoors flattened the garage to make way for a pretty garden/patio... and an ugly shed isn't allowed in that! lol

Just thought I would share another option if you want to use a pf trolley static in a van.

I've stopped using my pf trolley mobile and stuck it in the van instead. Where the container would go is a portable gas tank strapped in. Also where you have that hose reel I have a gas hot water heater set up there now. The trolley inlet feeds directly from a van tank and I use a 100m minibore hose reel instead. As its all set up by the side loading door its easy to bring indoors when frost is forecast overnight too. I use a static ro/di system at home to produce pure that the pure water is held in 1000 litre ibc tanks then just transfer into the van tank using a transfer pump. No more filling containers, no more humping water about and no more wheeling a trolley about all day long whilst out working unless I need to which is hardly ever now.

Thats the beauty of using a pf trolley as you can use it static in a van aswell so have the best of both worlds.

If you have never used hot pure water then you need to try it as works so much better on first cleans than cold be it on glass, plastic windows, gutters, fascias, sofitts, conservatory roofs etc.

@Smurf I use the 8mm hose, im looking to put a tap on it somewhere to save me running back to turn of pump box. Any information on what tap for this hose and where to attach it to?

O.K. So I have my hose reel now.

I am using pole hose 8m all through.

What fittings will I need for the photo's attached.

I have a Hozelock fitting for the trolley output, then it's simply a case of a short length of garden hose with a Hozelock fitting on each end & a double male adapter to link the female end on the hose to the female output on the trolley.

As for connecting the pole hose to the reel... I'm not sure how you'd do that. My reels all have a male Hozelock fitting in the centre & I use one of these:

Hope this helps...
