I am considering dumping £130 worth of work. A total of 3 jobs....

Give me the  or  chaps.

Here goes....

1) 4 weekly worth £35. Often cancels due to being away. Has coded gates (I know the number, but he doesn't know that) and could give me the code so I can carry on. Out in the sticks. I texted last night and he replied cancelling at 11:30 this morning. I had to drive past his house today, the gates were open and the cleaners car was there.

Dump or keep?

2) 4 weekly worth £35. I took her back on a few months ago after I dumped her for being a messer a few years back. First clean all good, away the second clean. Rang her last night, she didn't want them doing because she's going on holiday next week.

Dump or keep?

3) 12 weekly worth £60. Done it for years, it's a farmhouse with a big courtyard full of holiday lets, it's just down the lane from Mr Cancel above. I have never put the price up  over the years, and she refuses WFP. Rang last night and she wanted to know how much it would be if I left her house which is connected to the job as her husband was going to do just the house but me do the rest. I said I'd knock a tenner off. "So you think our house is 1/6 of the work then." she says. Well it's worth a tenner to me I say. "Ok, do the lot tomorrow and we'll have a chat about the price tomorrow. She weren't in and I didn't get paid. Now if I were to quote her house on its own, would she be happy paying more than a tenner? Of course she wouldn't.

Dump or keep?

I will go with whatever the forum decides, fire away chaps.

Dump, Dump, Dump.

I'd fk the first 2 off tuffers, but not sure on the 3rd one. I can tollerate a bit of **** if the moneys there, but if itsnot, then its probably a good move to free that time up and replace it with something more profitable. I think you know what you've gotta do.

Last month I dropped 7 of my regular customers as they did the same as yours and a couple have so much dog poo round the back garden it was silly , if in doubt say bye to them ,sure you'll feel better , I know I will next time I go out

I walked a load of dog **** up my ladder a couple of days back. It was box fresh, and the first I knew of it was on the walk down when the smell hit me. Luckily Imanaged to get most of it off my shoes with the doormat.

I would definitely dump all three. Its just a wind up being messed around and will cost you money as well. It may cost you some self respect as well. There is plenty of good reliable work out there.

Depends if you need the cash? Also if you are the easy going kind and dont care too much whether you do it or not. I would be tempted to dump the one that changes the job at 11.30am the day you are going to clean it. Other option is to say if they put the job off you will have to charge a late cancelling fee or an extra £10 for cleaning the extra dirt off. If they muck you about:hey:, maybe give them a bit back like that, but of course in a gentlemanly manner:) it might wake them out of their world and into yours. We are in a mucky world and some people treat us like the muck we clean off, sometimes we need to have a thick skin and rise above the ignorances of the custy. If its good money for the job, keep them, but just do when you feel like it. One must try and not be petty, but if you get the feeling you are getting treated badly, walk away:eek:

sounds like first two are messers would dump without hesitation third would negotiate with unless not worth travelling for

Hate that, even though your sure it's all gone you can still smell it for the rest of the day, it's like it sticks to your nostrils

The annoying thing was that I was just feeling smug about knocking 10mins off my previous time on that house when it happened. But lost 10 minutes cleaning pedegree chum out of the groves of my ladder. And yep, you're right, it was the gift that kept giving all day.
