Thanks guys.

That window in the pic was my first ever window. Can't believe my first ever window was a blow in. I was scrubbing that thing like a nutcase. All kinds of thing were going through my mind, thought I bought a bit of kit which destroys windows:eek:

God bless the internets.

Experience is the key . You've ticked one off /emoticons/smile.png

Regarding the snail trail… some brushes are better at others at cleaning the trails off. They can be hard work sometimes but the good news is that the snails are all going away as the cold weather kicks in. Though, you will still get windows to clean with them on.

On first cleans using WFP, you can't go far wrong squirting neat Ecover on your brush and blitz everything until the froth has gone, then rinse, rinse and rinse

We use paint thinner oooo bass wool fabric softer

I have come across some blown units that get worse as we clean them, especially south facing windows. The sun warms up the air in the space between the two glass panels. Warm air is able to 'absorb' more moisture , but when you clean the windows you are cooling that air down, and makes the window look worse, so it looks to you as though you have caused the problem.

If you look carefully at the picture you took, you can see condensation droplets on the left hand side of the window looking out.The rest of it just looks hazy.

As per Puraclenz, just inform your new customer that you have noticed that they have a number of windows that have blown seals. Everyone I've mentioned that to knew about it anyway, so don't worry.

As regards brushes; The brush you have is a nice maintenance brush so would be fine for the job you did as the window were being regularily cleaned. We have found a second stiffer brush is also good to have. We use a Gardiner Superlite Dual Trim as per the link.

http://www.gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/acatalog/The-Super-Lite--Brush-Dual-Trim---Stiff-Bristles-BRUSH_SL_DT_STIFF.html

This works well on first cleans and really dirty windows.

Yes broke unit , if I find this at new customers houses I always inform them about the broken seal , nowadays you can get a company out that drill a tiny hole in the glass and fill the unit with cleaning solution and then they drain it and it leaves it clean
did,int know that pure that company will make a fortune, just spent fortune replacing bay window

The reason why a dg units mist up in the first place is because they become faulty so just cleaning the inside of both panes of glass is not going to stop it happening again is it now

I have seen glaziers advertising that among other things, they also deal with blown double glazing units… they replace them.

What are your thoughts on the yellow pole hose and valve guys?

It turns into a birds nest when I take my eye off it for one minute and theres way too much hose there. Tried taping the control valve to the pole but just makes it more awkward when wrapping it up. Tried it in the hand like in the gardiner video but don't think I can get on with that. Seen these aqua adaptors but just wanted something cheap and easy really just to make it less hassle and me more quick as i'm fairly slow starting out.

Are you sure it was not siroflex sx glass cleaner as the bottles look the same but the solvent cleaner does not have a sprayer /emoticons/biggrin.png

That's another you will overcome with experience . Tell us more about your setup, ie pole, length of it and why you think there is too much pole hose. Seems odd that there is too much pole hose. You will need enough for the pole to fully extend plus a bit more to connect to the tap etc

I use 1/4 turn valves on short poles, but not the bigger ones as they are time consuming, annoying and a trip hazard with the extra pole hose loop.

On my bigger poles I use an aquadaptor. I have just gotten an aqua tap, but haven't tried it yet.

Another option is a remote on/off switch for your pump. Though I don't have one, so can't comment on the effectiveness or real working useage .
