Home made wfp ikea trolley

P

Pickingpaul

View attachment 3359 Took me most of the day in and around the usual shopping trip and visiting my nan for afternoon tee, but i managed to finish my new trolley.

Its small and compact no extras, bare essentials only, its not the best trolley by a long shot but its probably the cheapest and smallest, ive made this so i can get it in and out the car easily and eas to store in the cupboard over night/weekend.

It works fine and i will use it this week out in the window cleaning wilderness and let u Know how it copes. If the wheels prove to be a pain due to the size i will put on some pump up wheels off the bay.

And i have taken pictures throughout the making of this so i will do a "how to make one" thread if it will be wanted?

This trolley cost about £60 fellas

The ikea trolleyis advertised at £9 on their website but im sure it was £9.99 when i was there

Plus water containers di vessel and pole+ accessories makes it very cheap for a first time effort for anyone, who could always upgrade to a better trolley if and when using all the parts on this one.

Nice like those junction boxes for battery and pump well done pp

Cant get much cheaper than this, easy too. Ive got a gardiner pole, but i also have a harris pole, i would be tempted now to use that now becausei know more about the set upon a pole. Buy a tecbuk Brush as i hear alotof people rave about them. I only wfp the upstairs on some roads i do, makes for some quick quality cleaning.

If u get a van u can make a van mount urself on the cheap also

Thanks, i was looking in b&q for a box and i saw these at £7.49 and thought they looked about the right size, only just big enough for the battery and only just fit on the backof the trolley there, could have been a failure, only a few mm spare

Thanks jimmyboots for the link and i agree

as i said in the first post in this thread, i will upgrade to ones like that if these proove to be a pain but i want to give them a chance first, they are little plastic ones on the bigboy back packs.

They feel surprisingly easy to manoeuvre, im not deluded but i have a gd feeling about them, i will know this time next week

I think you'll know way-before the week is out /emoticons/wink.png/emoticons/biggrin.png.

ps

Neat job on the trolley  /emoticons/smile.png.

Nice one...but the big question is will it last?

Yeah you are right, once ive been through my round a few months i guess. I can probably strengthen weak spots when and if needed.

may be best to just change trolley , fold down one, with better rubber tyres. up and down kerbs will bash them about and loosen wheel fittings. from the impact on kerbs.

good set up,

Yeah, thanks for links and advice everyone /emoticons/smile.png

As i said in the first post, its small for a reason, so i can get it in the car easily, i have a bigger normal sort of sack truck with bigger wheels which ive used for the past 6 months, it takes up too much room in the car and is a pain, if i had a van then no problem but this is small for a reason. If i get either a van of a bigger car i would put the set up on a bigger sack truck in a flash /emoticons/tongue.png

/emoticons/tongue.png Dont give me ideas

It was fine today again, the only real trouble is if u try and push it in front of u and it tops if theres uneven terrain but pulling it no problems.

I might buy pneumatic wheels for it but then its growing insize and the base wont be level so would need to build that up too, rubber door stops i iagine would b gd
