Actually, from looking back over all these posts I think you are both right, you were just misunderstanding each other!

The way I now understand it and to put it simply you need to cut the wire coming OUT of the pressure switch on the pump. Then connect pressure switch to 86 and 87 to the pump's live terminal.

That makes sense to me anyway!

No, there is more to it than that. But never mind, don't use a relay.

You obviously still need to connect 30 to battery positive and 85 to battery negative too but I was just addressing the bit that was confusing people.

That's exactly what your drawing shows anyway.

Yes, that's what I have done. I don't now know if it is protecting the relay. Maybe it might be worth playing around with an open relay to see whats going on if I get some time.

Thats excellent Beccs, really impressed. Now all you want is a reel /emoticons/smile.png
jimmy I came across this reel. I have also 40m of 5mm hose, what fittings do I need to attach the hose to the reel? I bought a orange adopter called qrc stop, but the hose is to small to connect onto the narrow end.

Not quite sure which bit you mean but looking at the pic do you mean one of the first two on this page?http://gardinerpolesystems.co.uk/all-products/pump-hose/hose-fittings-adapters/qr-metal-hose-coupling-systems.html
